Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Theft Suspect


Upper Marlboro, MD...The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of James Isaac Thomas on January 30, 2020 on a warrant for Theft of $1,500 to under $25,000 that was obtained by county police on January 17, 2020.

According to the warrant, on December 4, 2019, police responded to the 3700 block of Ady Rd. in Harford County, MD for a report of a theft. When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim who stated that while she was shopping on Fallston Blvd. in Harford County, she was approached by a man who asked her about cat food in one of the aisles.  The woman said that after the man left, she noticed her purse was unzipped and her wallet, with her Visa and identification cards were missing. The victim also said that when she called her bank, she was told that two charges – one for $ 1,500 and $500 had been made.  The police investigation led them to video surveillance showing Thomas making purchases with the money he had taken from the victim’s credit card.     

On January 17, 2020, deputies’ investigation led them to an address in the 3100 block of Chester Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD. Upon arrival, deputies observed Thomas outside of his garage doing maintenance on a car. Deputies served him the warrant, placed him into custody, and transported him to the Prince Georges County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD without incident.

 Thomas is also charged with 3 counts of Theft, 3 counts of Credit card Theft and 2 counts of Fraud/ identity Theft.
