Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive
Division reported the arrest of Grayson Iran Espinal on April 15, 2020, on a
warrant for First Degree Murder obtained by the City of Greenbelt Police on
March 3, 2020.

Further
investigation by the sheriff’s deputy assigned to the United States Marshals
Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) led to a residence in
Lanham, MD. With the location under surveillance, members of the Task Force observed
Espinal sitting on the front porch and called for additional assistance. As they
approached, Espinal ran inside of the house. Officers surrounded the house and knocked
at the front door, which was answered by a resident who told them that Espinal
was in the basement and allowed them to enter. As they entered the home,
Espinal attempted to flee through a rear door but was quickly apprehended by
members on the perimeter. Espinal was served the warrant, placed into custody,
and safely transported to Greenbelt Police Department (GPD) detectives without
incident.
Espinal
is also charged with Home Invasion, Openly Carrying a Knife to cause Injury,
Reckless Endangerment, and First-Degree Assault.
