Deputies Arrest Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect

 

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Chaz Dorrell Dimante Jones on November 17, 2020, on a warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by county police on October 23, 2020.

According to the warrant, on September 24^th, police responded to the 3200 Block of 75^th Ave in Hyattsville, MD, for a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered a male shot multiple times on the ground. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he received treatment for his injuries. Detectives were able to identify Jones as the subject through their investigation.

On November 17^th, deputies and members of the United States Marshals Service Capital Area Regionals Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) determined that Jones could be located at an address in the 3300 Block of 10^th Pl. SE, Washington, DC. Deputies identified Jones inside where he was served the warrant, placed into custody, and safely transported to the Metropolitan Police Station for Processing without incident. Jones is awaiting extradition back to Prince George’s County, MD.

Jones is also charged with First Degree Assault, Armed Robbery, Robbery, Using a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Theft $100 To Under $1,500, and Credit Card Theft.
