Deputies Arrest Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect

 

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Derrick Cofield on December 7th, 2020, on a warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by the county police on December 2, 2020.

According to the warrant on December 1, 2020, Cofield was driving a vehicle in the 3200 block of Walters Lane when he fired multiple shots at the victim as they drove away. The victim drove to a safe location and called police. Deputies from the Office of the Sheriff responded to the victim’s location and safely transported the victim to Prince George’s County Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) where she reiterated the events.

On December 7th, deputies thru their investigation were able to locate Cofield in the 3200 block of Walters Lane in District Heights, MD. Deputies were allowed entry into the residence and Cofield was taken into custody and transported to Criminal Investigations Division (CID).

Cofield is also charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Firearm use in Felonious Violent Crime, Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree, Loaded Handgun in Vehicle, Loaded handgun on Person, Handgun on Person, Handgun in Vehicle, and Reckless Endangerment.
