The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Antoine
Dalanta Smith on December 8, 2020, on a warrant for First Degree Assault
obtained by county police on November 30, 2020.
According
to the warrant, on November 30th, deputies assigned to the Domestic Violence
Intervention Division (DVID) responded to a local gas station in District
Heights, MD, for a domestic violence call involving a weapon. Upon arrival,
deputies spoke with the victim, who reported arguing with Smith at a home in
the 3700 Block of Donnell Dr. in District Heights, MD. Smith is alleged to have
pointed a firearm at the victim, threatening to shoot. The victim was able to
run from the home to a local gas station to call 911.
On
December 8th, deputies executed a warrant service in the 3700 Block
of Donnell Dr. in District Heights, MD. Deputies knocked on the door and a
resident allowed them to enter. Smith was identified in a bedroom where he was served
the warrant, placed into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George’s
County Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit without incident.
Smith
is also charged with Using a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime, Second
Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Having a handgun on his person.
