Deputies Arrest Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect

 

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Romeo Dewayne Brown on March 18, 2021, on a warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by county police on February 17, 2021.

According to the warrant, on December 14th, 2020, police responded to the 4100 Block of Southern Ave, in Capitol Heights, MD, for a reported shooting. When police arrived, they spoke with the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Police learned that Brown was alleged to have approached the victim, asking for drugs before firing a gun and fleeing the scene. Detectives were able to identify Brown as one of the suspects through their investigation.

On March 18th, deputies and members of the United States Marshals Service Capital Area Regionals Fugitive Taskforce (CARFTF) determined that Brown could be located at an address in the 800 Block of Chesapeake St. SE in Washington, DC. When members of the task force knocked on the door, Brown answered, allowing them to enter the home. Once inside, he was served the warrant, taken into custody, and safely transported to the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC for processing without incident.

Brown is also charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, First-Degree Assault, Using a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime, Robbery, Second-Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Carrying a Handgun On His Person.
