Deputies Arrest First Degree Assault Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Orlando Edwards Anderson on March 18, 2021, on a warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by the Hyattsville City Police Department on February 20, 2021.

According to the warrant, on February 20th, Hyattsville Police responded to an address in the 3300 Block of East-West Hwy, in Hyattsville, MD, for a reported domestic violence related assault call. Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim who reported having an argument with Anderson that turned physical while the victim attempted to leave home. Anderson is alleged to have strangled the victim, causing them to lose consciousness momentarily and leaving physical signs of injury. Police were able to identify Anderson as the suspect through their investigation.

On March 18th, deputies executed an arrest warrant in the 3300 Block of East West Hwy, in Hyattsville, MD. Upon arrival, deputies knocked on the door which was answered by a resident who allowed them to enter the home. Once inside, Anderson was identified, served the warrant, placed into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George's County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident.

Anderson is also charged with Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.
