Deputies Arrest Second Degree Rape Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Hector Isaias Avila Rivera on June 6, 2021, on a warrant for Second Degree Rape obtained by county police on May 21, 2021.

According to the warrant, on April 7th, Detectives learned Rivera met a minor victim online and had allegedly provided them with a false age before engaging in sexual intercourse with them at a residence in Hyattsville, MD.

On June 8th, deputies and members of the United States Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) determined that Rivera could be located at an address in the 2900 Block of Fenimore Rd, in Silver Spring, MD. When members of the task force knocked on the door, a resident answered, allowing them to enter the home. Rivera was apprehended after attempting to flee from a basement door. Rivera was served the warrant, taken into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident.

Rivera is also charged with Second-Degree Assault.
