Deputies Arrest First Degree Assault Suspect

 

Upper Marlboro, MD… The office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Alex Will Martinez-Lopez on June 10, 2021, on a warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by county police on May 31, 2021.

According to the warrant, on January 28th, police met with a victim, who disclosed that they were assaulted on January 21st in the 2000 block of Evansdale Dr. in Hyattsville, MD. Police learned that Martinez-Lopez had allegedly been involved in a physical altercation that resulted in the victim being stabbed. Martinez-Lopez fled the scene before police arrived, and the victim was transported to the local hospital, where they received treatment for their injuries.

On June 10th, deputies determined that Martinez-Lopez could be located at an address in the 2000 block of Evansdale Dr. in Hyattsville, MD. When deputies knocked on the door, a resident answered, allowing them to enter the home. Once inside, Martinez-Lopez was identified. He was served the warrant, taken into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident.

Martinez-Lopez is also charged with Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.
