First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division has arrested Michael Rose of Clinton, MD yesterday on a First Degree Assault arrest warrant obtained by District IV County Police Detectives on January 24, 2014.

According to the warrant, Rose was operating a vehicle on Livingston Rd near Beretta Rd in Accokeek, MD last June when he and a female passenger became involved in a verbal disagreement. During the argument, Rose produced a knife and held it to the female’s throat. The warrant further states that when the victim attempted to exit the car at a stop sign, Rose accelerated the vehicle causing the victim to fall out of the car.  The incident was reported to the Police resulting in a warrant for Rose’s arrest.

Deputy’s investigative work into Rose’s whereabouts led Warrant Deputies to the 17000 block of Clinton Drive in Accokeek, MD. Where Rose was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections (DOC).

He is also charged with Second Degree Assault.

Sheriff Deputies Arrest Attempt 1st Degree Murder Suspect


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Celvin Eulises Meja-Ramos of Hyattsville, MD on an arrest warrant issued by the Circuit Court of Prince George's County, MD on January 8, 2014 for Attempted – Murder 1st Degree.

Meja-Ramos was indicted by a Prince George’s County Grand Jury for an incident that occurred on September 10, 2013, in which he is accused of assaulting a male victim with a handgun in an attempt to kill him. 

 The Warrant/ Fugitive Division determined Meja- Ramos’s whereabouts as the 9400 block of Adelphi Road, Hyattsville, MD, where he was apprehended on January 20, 2014.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George's County Department of Correction. 

Meja- Ramos is also charged with Assault 1st Degree, Use Handgun in a Crime Violence, Participation in Gang Activity, Carry Handgun, and Conspiracy- Murder 1st Degree.

Deputies Arrest Theft Suspect/ Close Two Warrants

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant / Fugitive Division has arrested Shamika Staggs on an arrest warrant for Theft over $100,000 obtained by County Police on January 2, 2014.

According to the warrant, Staggs acquired a falsified property deed and illegally rented a vacant town home in the 10000 block of Keepsake Court in Upper Marlboro, MD. The warrant further states that Staggs sold the property to an investment group and received over $195,000 as proceeds from the sale of the property. 

Upon receipt of the warrant, Warrant/Fugitive Deputies began an investigation into Staggs’ whereabouts. On February 3, 2014, she was located and apprehended at a residence in the 15000 block of Kennett Square Way in Brandywine, MD.  

Staggs was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.  She is also charged with Issuance of a False Document, False Entry in a Public Record, and Forgery of Private Instruments and Documents.  

Staggs’ arrest also closes an outstanding 2010 warrant for Fraud Conversion issued by the Prince George’s County District Court.

Sheriffs/U.S. Marshals Task Force Arrest Attempted 1st Degree Murder Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant/Fugitive Division has reported the capture of Rashad Wright on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by County Police detectives.


According to the warrant, on June 22, 2013 Wright and two other males were sitting inside of a parked vehicle in the 1200 block of Elfin Avenue in Capitol Heights, MD when an argument ensued between Wright and one of the men in the car.  Following the argument, Wright allegedly produced a pocket knife and stabbed the victim in his neck and back when the victim attempted to exit the vehicle. Wright then fled on foot prior to officers’ arrival.

Deputies investigating Wright’s whereabouts determined that he may have fled to the state of Georgia. With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Wright was located at a residence in Byron, Georgia where he refused to open the door for officers.  Access to the home was granted by the home owner and Wright was eventually found hiding in a bedroom. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Houston County Detention Center where he will await extradition to Prince George’s County.  

Wright is also charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.

Deputies Arrest Robbery Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of April Stone of Capitol Heights, MD on an arrest warrant for Robbery, which was obtained by the Prince George’s County Police Department on November 05, 2013.

According to the warrant, on July 24th, 2013, Stone allegedly attacked a female victim in the 1400 block of Early Oaks Lane Fairmont Heights, MD, punching her in the head and face while attempting to take the victim’s purse. After taking the purse, Stone fled into a private residence. The warrant further states that the victim recognized her attacker. Stone was later positively identified as April Stone and the warrant was obtained. 

On receipt of the warrant, the Warrant/ Fugitive Division began to investigate Stone’s whereabouts. She was located and apprehended on the 5100 block of Duel Place, Capitol Heights, MD., where she was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George's County Department of Correction.  Stone was also charged with Assault Second Degree.

First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Michael Warrick on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault that was obtained by County Police detectives on January 18, 2014.

According to the warrant, on January 12th Warrick became agitated with a female victim and began choking and slapping her before throwing her to the ground. The warrant further states, Warrick dragged the victim down a flight of stairs before she was able to escape to her home. He attempted to gain access to the victim’s home but fled before police officers arrived.

Sheriff’s Deputies investigating Warrick’s whereabouts located him in the 300 block of Thomas Drive in Laurel, MD. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Warrick is also charged with Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Fourth Degree Attempted Burglary

Deputies Arrest Arson Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Lenniscleo Yalanza Brown of Suitland, MD on an arrest warrant for Arson 2nd degree, which was obtained by the Prince George’s County Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) on January 25, 2014.

According to the warrant, on November 30, 2013, the OFM was notified of a vehicle fire at Creston Street and 50th Avenue in Hyattsville, MD. Later that same day, Brown called 911 to report his 2002 GMC Yukon missing. Brown was then advised that his vehicle had already been recovered. Fire Investigators subsequently conducted an investigation and determined the cause of the fire to be intentional. On January 25, 2013, the OFM had contact with Mr. Brown and subsequently obtained this warrant.

The Warrant/ Fugitive Division contacted Brown, who turned himself in at Sheriff’s Headquarters, located in Upper Marlboro, MD. Brown was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections. He was also charged with Malicious Burning 1st degree, Malicious Burning Fraud, Misrepresentation of Insurance Policies and Reckless Endangerment.
