Deputies Arrest Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect

 

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of William Donelle Mangum on March 4, 2021, on a warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by county police on February 24, 2021.

According to the warrant, on February 10, 2021, police responded to the 3200 Block of Dean Dr. in Hyattsville, MD, for a reported shooting. Police learned that Mangum, accompanied by three other suspects, was alleged to have fired a gun at several intended people in the home before fleeing the scene. Detectives were able to identify Mangum as one of the suspects through their investigation.

On March 4th, deputies determined that Mangum could be located at an address in the 7900 Block of Orion Cir. in Laurel, MD. Deputies identified Mangum inside, where he was served the warrant, taken into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident.

Mangum is also charged with two additional counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, three counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder, three counts of First-Degree Assault, Using a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime, three counts of Second-Degree Assault, Carrying a Handgun on Person, Carrying a Handgun in a Vehicle, Carrying a Loaded Handgun On Person, Carrying a Loaded Handgun In a vehicle, CDS: Possession Not Marijuana, Reckless Endangerment, Illegal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm After Being prohibited as a Felon, Illegal Possession of Ammunition and two counts of Malicious Destruction of Property.

Deputies Arrest Manufacture of a Controlled Dangerous Substance Suspect

 

Upper Marlboro, MD The Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Benedict Oladimeji Ola Otunba on March 5, 2021, on a warrant for Manufacture of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) obtained by county police on February 19, 2021.

According to the warrant on January 31st, Police responded to the 800 Block of Kayak Ave in Capitol Heights, MD for a reported assault, where a firearm was allegedly discharged. When officers arrived, they conducted a security sweep of the residence, where they learned that Otunba was growing marijuana in the home.

On March 5th, deputies responded to Otunba’s home located in Capitol Heights, MD. When deputies knocked on the door, Otunba answered allowing them to enter the home. Once inside, he was served the warrant, placed into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident.

Otunba is also charged with CDS: Production Equipment, and CDS: Possession Paraphernalia.

Deputies Arrest Sex Abuse of a Minor Suspect

 

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Alonzo Calvin Thomas Jr. on March 2, 2021, on a warrant for Sex Abuse of a Minor obtained by county police on February 23, 2021.

According to the warrant, on or around July 2020, a minor victim disclosed that they were allegedly sexually assaulted by Thomas at a home located in Capitol Heights, MD.

On March 2nd, deputies’ investigations led them to an address in the 4600 Block of Leroy Gorham Dr, in Capitol Heights, MD. When deputies knocked on the door, Thomas answered allowing them to enter the home. Once inside, he was served the warrant, placed into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident.


Thomas is also charged with three counts of Second-Degree Assault and Third-Degree Sex Offense.

Deputies Arrest CDS Possession With Intent to Distribute Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Raymond Leon Lewis on February 24, 2021, on a warrant for CDS Possession With Intent to Distribute obtained by county police on February 11, 2021.

According to the warrant, police observed Lewis and another individual sitting in a running vehicle drinking alcohol. When police approached, they were met with a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and observed open containers. There was a significant number of drugs and money seized from the vehicle by police. Both subjects were released pending criminal charges.  

On February 24th, deputies were able to determine that Lewis could be located in the 4200 Block of 28th Ave in Temple Hills. When deputies knocked on the door, Lewis answered, allowing them to enter the home. Once inside, he was served the warrant, placed into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD without incident.


Lewis is also charged with CDS Possession-Not Marijuana.
