Deputies Arrest Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect

 

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of William Donelle Mangum on March 4, 2021, on a warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by county police on February 24, 2021.

According to the warrant, on February 10, 2021, police responded to the 3200 Block of Dean Dr. in Hyattsville, MD, for a reported shooting. Police learned that Mangum, accompanied by three other suspects, was alleged to have fired a gun at several intended people in the home before fleeing the scene. Detectives were able to identify Mangum as one of the suspects through their investigation.

On March 4th, deputies determined that Mangum could be located at an address in the 7900 Block of Orion Cir. in Laurel, MD. Deputies identified Mangum inside, where he was served the warrant, taken into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident.

Mangum is also charged with two additional counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, three counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder, three counts of First-Degree Assault, Using a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime, three counts of Second-Degree Assault, Carrying a Handgun on Person, Carrying a Handgun in a Vehicle, Carrying a Loaded Handgun On Person, Carrying a Loaded Handgun In a vehicle, CDS: Possession Not Marijuana, Reckless Endangerment, Illegal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm After Being prohibited as a Felon, Illegal Possession of Ammunition and two counts of Malicious Destruction of Property.
